How do I rent a car as a travel advisor to make commission?

Preferably, book transfers and car rentals through one of the suppliers on your Vendor List located on your Xstream Agent Hub. The suppliers on your vendor list generally offer higher commission percentages and provide quicker commission payment. Click on the Ground Transportation tab on the Vendor List to sort all applicable suppliers. Instructions on how to work with each supplier is on the Vendor List by clicking the supplier's logo.

If you're booking a vacation package and the car rental or transfer is for your client's trip, try working with the supplier you're booking through. They will generally have package rates for ground transfers and/or car rentals that could save your client money on their vacation package, and offer higher commission percentages for you as their travel advisor.

Can I book directly with car rental companies? 

Yes. Call the car rental company and identify yourself as a travel advisor and provide them Xstream's IATA to book. You can also book through most car rental company's travel advisor sites online using Xstream's IATA.

  • Hertz: Contact information here or customer-relations-it@hertz.com. Read more about their commission policy here. Please know, commission inquiries to Hertz must be submitted within 6 months after completion of the rental. 
  • Budget: For reservations, call 800-268-8900 24 hours 7 days a week. Learn more about their commission policy here. Commissions are processed promptly after the completion of each qualifying rental and payments are disbursed monthly. If you have not received your commission within a 60-day period after completion of a rental, please send an email to travelhelpdesk@avisbudget.com. We will investigate your inquiry and respond back to you within 7 business days. Forms can also be found in your GDS under Budget keyword "COMM".   • Enterprise (includes Alamo & National): For assistance, please email travelagent@erac.com.   • Avis: The reservation center can be contacted at 800-331-2212. TA assistance can be reached via email here travelhelpdesk@avisbudget.com. Avis will investigate your inquiry and respond back to you within 7 business days.
  • Alamo: Alamo is the largest car rental provider to international travelers visiting North America. Accelerated Check-in is activated when the renter's driver’s license and contact information is provided ahead of pick-up. Keep in mind booking with car rental companies directly may offer lower commission percentages and slower commission payment schedules, however you're welcome to work with them. Commission from car rental companies is generally received to Xstream quarterly, but every vendor pays differently.
